Ahok to be Released Early 2019, Sister Worries over Women

Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok (Left) and Veronica Tan (Right).

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A step-sister of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok, Nana Riwayatie, expressed her concern that new problems would arise if Ahok is freed early 2019. The issue, she said, was not about politics but women.

Nana feared women would be attracted to see Ahok when the former husband of Veronica Tan is released from jail. “Women will be dazzled,” Nana told Tempo while laughing, Thursday, December 6.

Ahok’s sister claimed that the former Jakarta Governor had a slim yet muscular body that added to his attractive look.

She denied a photo displaying her brother’s condition that was thinner while in jail. Ahok has a muscular body, Nana said. “He exercises every day.”

According to Ahok’s attorney, Teguh Samudera, his client would be free in early 2019. Ahok was estimated to be released in 2019 after receiving several remission. However, he did not detail the exact date.

It was expected Ahok would later gain remission on Christmas this year thus he would be freed in early 2019.
