TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dry lips are susceptible to becoming chapped or cracked. This will make your lip makeup looks imperfect. Two famous Indonesian make-up artists, Ifan Rivaldi and Hepi David, shared tips to moisten dry lips.
Scrub the lips
Scrubbing is not only a treatment for your body but it can also be done to your lip. Ifan said that scrubbing can remove dead and dry cells on your lip.
"If your lip is dry, you can scrub it three times a day. You better scrub it at night, so you'll get a moist lip in the morning," said Ifan Rivaldi, who once did the makeup for actresses Putri Marino and Dian Sastro.
Use olive oil and lip balm
Hepi David said that to maintain the lip's moistness on the daily basis, you can apply olive oil on your lip before going to bed. Olive oil can moisture and hydrate a dry lip.
"Before putting on a lipstick, you also want to put on a lip balm to your lip and then wipe it with tissue so it won't be too oily. Then you can apply your lipstick or lip tint on," he added.
Drink water
Lastly, Hepi David said that it is important to drink a lot of water to hydrate your skin which will also beneficial for other parts of the body, including lip.
"A dry skin can be a sign of body dehydration. Therefore, don't forget to drink enough water," he remarked.
