TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said that the commuter line electric train (KRL) passengers can use the Airport Train, an alternative rail-based transportation to reduce the density of passengers at Duri Station.
According to Budi, KRL passengers can book airport train tickets. The airport train departing from Duri Station will go straight to Batu Ceper Station without making stops in any other stations.
"Most passengers are not getting off at Batu Ceper Station, but Batu Ceper Station is a big one," Budi said on Saturday, April 14, 2018.
The cause of passenger density at Duri Station was due to the increasing frequency of airport train that stops at the station.
Budi explained that the airport train will continue to be operated for KRL passengers only as long as the passenger density at Duri Station is still high. Budi added that passenger quota and airport train time are limited.
According to Budi, there is a quota limitation for KRL passengers would like to use the airport train. Passengers who wishes to use the airport train can make bookings online. The system is 'first come, first serve'.
"So people cannot complain, first come, first serve," said Budi.
