Anies Baswedan Closes Exotic Discotheque, Sense Karaoke

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan officially revoked the business permit of entertainment spots Diskotek Exotic and Sense Karaoke. The Jakarta Investment Agency and One Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) Head Edy Junaedi confirmed the revocation.

“Yes, [the revocation was] issued yesterday,” said Edy Junaedi when contacted by Tempo Friday, April 13. Edy explained the annulment is based on Gubernatorial Decree No. 18/2018 on tourism business.

Edy Junaedi further explained that the permit revocation is applied to all businesses under the same management and building. The agency has issued the warrant and coordinated with Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officers to close both entertainment spots.

Governor Anies Baswedan has so far shut down three tourism businesses and night entertainment places namely Alexis, Diskotek Exotic, and Sense Karaoke.
