TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Asian Games 2018 Organizing Committee (Inasgoc) targets the revenue of Rp10 to Rp20 billion from the sales of the Asian Games merchandise or souvenirs which was launched on Friday, March 23 in Jakarta.
"We hope the high enthusiasm of the people towards the various Asian Games souvenirs is able to achieve the target," said Deputy II Inasgoc Match Administration Francis Wanandi.
Francis admitted the launch of the 18th Asian Games' official souvenir was postponed for three months following the preparation of product quality assurance.
"Our preparation started since late 2017. We want to make sure the products we sell are in perfect condition and will not disappoint the public," he said.

Francis said the Asian Games 2018 souvenir products have attracted public interest since Inasgoc opened the four pilot shops in Jakarta at the end of 2017.
"If there are fake products on the market, it means there is a high demand from the public, but on the other hand, there is an error associated with product licensing," he said.
Inasgoc, according to Francis, strongly prohibits the selling of Asian Games souvenirs that are not officially licensed and will sanction the seller.
"We encourage the sellers to cooperate with Inasgoc by selling official products and we protect it by providing hologram on every product," he said.
Asian Games 2018 souvenir products will also be marketed through a number of stores in the network so that it can reach all provinces in Indonesia, in addition to the cooperation with one of the chain stores of the nationwide franchise.
The price of the Asian Games 2018 souvenirs ranges from Rp3,500 to Rp5 million depending on the shape, materials, and product design.
