TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Communication and Informatics Ministry confirmed that the gradual blockage for prepaid SIM card users will take effect after the deadline on February 28, which will start by blocking outgoing communications in the form of call service or short messaging service (SMS).

For those who have not registered, you would need two items to re-register. The first is your ID Number (NIK) and secondly is your family registration certificate (KK) numbers. As for foreign citizens living in Indonesia, you can re-register your prepaid card by visiting a provider outlet and do it manually there.
Up until February 26, the Communication and Informatics Ministry recorded more than 285 million prepaid SIM card customers have already re-registered. The ministry has also prepared a service to assure that a user’s NIK and KK certification number is not misused by anyone else.
