TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bahari Museum or the Maritime Museum in Sunda Kelapa, North Jakarta, caught fire on Tuesday morning, January 16. The fire was first noticed at around 09:05 am Jakarta time.
"We are still trying to put out the fire," North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency head Satriadi told Tempo.
Satriadi said he does not know what caused the fire. Around 60 firefighters are still tryong to put out the razing fire.
No casualties have been reported, but the fire will likely damage the museum's collection.
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is reported to have gone straight to the museum to monitor the situation.
