TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Agus Rahardjo said his office will not stop investigating the electronic ID cards (e-KTP) graft case. The anti-graft agency, he said, would not stop the e-KTP investigation because of the police investigation into the commission's leaders over the alleged letter forgery and authority abuse cases.

“The KPK will continue [to investigate the e-KTP graft case]. A new investigation has been launched. We’re still questioning witnesses,” Agus said in a press release on Thursday, November 9.

Agus promised that his office will announce the investigation results soon after receiving reports from the KPK’s enforcement division.

Earlier, the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Corps (Bareskrim) issued a notification letter to begin an investigation (SPDP) into KPK chief Agus Rahardjo and deputy chief Saut Situmorang. The issuance of the letter was announced for the first time Fredrich Yunadi, the lawyer of House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Setya Novanto.

Agus revealed that he is still looking into the notification letter that he received on November 8, 2017. “We’ll read and study [the notification letter] first. It’s stated in the letter that a certain individual filed a report against two KPK leaders,” he said.

Agus said that he will contact the National Police to get further information about the report. “We believe that the National Police will be professional and is committed to corruption eradication efforts, as well as supporting the KPK to investigate corruption cases, including the e-KTP case,” he suggested.
