Police : No Criminal Elements Found in Report against Kaesang

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police issued an official announcement clarifying the decision to drop a police report filed against the son of President Joko Widodo of Jokowi, Kaesang Pangarep.
Police stated that the report filed by Muhamad Hidayat did not include criminal elements.
“We were not able to find any criminal element contained in the report,” Jakarta Police deputy chief Brig. Gen. Suntana said on Friday, July 7.
Suntana said that police has its own standards in processing and following up any reports filed by citizens.
“Police conduct case presentations, as soon as we handle cases, question witnesses and police have the discretion to determine whether a report has criminal elements or not,” Suntana explained.
Suntana assures the public that this particular case has gone through a rigorous mechanism.
Muhamad Hidayat went to the Bekasi Police to question the decision to drop his report. Muhamad admitted that he was disappointed with the decision. Muhamad further threatened to take the case to other state institutions such as the National Police Commission (Kompolnas), the House of Representatives, and the Police Ethics Council.
