TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Muhamad Hidayat, who filed a police report against President Joko Widodo or Jokowi’s son Kaesang Pangarep, came to the Bekasi Police to check the progress of the police report he made.
Muhamad felt puzzled by a statement issued by National Police deputy chief Comr. Gen. Syafruddin, saying that the case has been dropped.
“I ask the highest ranking officer here for the legal certainty [of the police report],” said Muhamad Hidayat today on Friday, July 7.
Bekasi Police spokesman Hidayat confirmed that that the case has been dropped.
Hidayat criticized the performance the police regarding this case and claimed that police are incompetent in handling reports filed by the public. He also claimed that the police incompetence was displayed when a high-ranking National Police officer announced that the case was dropped.
“I wasn’t even summoned for a questioning, what is this?” Muhamad said.
Hidayat threatened that he would take other legal steps to reopen the case, such as reporting it to the National Police Commission (Kompolnas), the House of Representatives, and the Police Ethics Council.
