TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police said that there was no criminal element in alleged blasphemy and hate speech case implicating Kaesang Pangarep. Kaesang is the youngest son of President Jokowi.
“We have questioned expert witnesses and no criminal element was found,” Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono said in Jakarta yesterday, July 6.

Regardless, Argo said that the police will still conduct the case presentation (gelar perkara) and question the reporting party. “The reporting party will be questioned tomorrow. A case presentation will still be held for accountability,” he said.
Asked about Kaesang Pangarep’s alleged insulting remark in his YouTube video, Argo said that three linguists say that it was not an insult.

Earlier, a man from Bekasi named Muhammad Hidayat filed a police report against Kaesang Pangarep over alleged blasphemy and hate speech based on a video uploaded to the former’s YouTube account.
Kaesang Pangarep does have a YouTube account which he often uses to upload videos. The video being reported by Hidayat was posted in May titled #BapakMintaProyek.
