Jakarta Orange Troops Convey Hopes, Messages to Anies-Sandi

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of Jakarta Public Facility Maintenance Agency (PPSU) workers, locally known as 'the Orange Troops', conveyed a number of messages and hopes for the newly elected Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor for the 2017 - 2022 administration, Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno.

"I think there will be a difference in the future. The Governor and Deputy Governor possesses a different ability compared to the previous one. [Hopefully] there will be welfare for us. [Like] owning a house," said Rizky, a PPSU worker during a gathering event.

Despite the positive responses, a number of PPSU workers had raised concern about the rumor that circulated during the Gubernatorial Campaign suggesting that Anies-Sandi is planning to disband to PPSU.

"I'm worried if the Governor's policies would be changed," said Ali, a PPSU worker in South Kedoya, West Jakarta.

PPSU was formed by Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, also known as Ahok, under Jakarta Governor Decree No. 169/2015 on Public Facilities Maintenance.

Since it was established, the PPSU had received many praises and compliments for their remarkable performance in maintaining the capital's public facilities.
