PDI-P Deploys Regional Members to Campaign for Ahok-Djarot

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PDI-P members of the Wonogiri Regional Legislatives Council will be deployed for the Jakarta Gubernatorial Election campaign. They will participate in Ahok – Djarot’s campaign. The ‘number two’ pair that consist of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama commonly known as Ahok and Saiful Hidayat or Djarot, had successfully gone through the first round of election.

Secretary of Wonogiri’s PDI-P Board Branch, Setyo Sukarno, stated that they were ordered by the party to help assist the second phase of Jakarta’s Gubernatorial campaign. “We will work side-by-side with legislators from other districts,” Setyo said on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

According to Setyo, there are eight legislators that will be deployed to Jakarta. “They are currently all in Jakarta,” Setyo said.

Most of them were tasked in the area of Central Jakarta. “Almost everyone that is from Central Java is posted in Central Jakarta,” he said. But it is still possible that they would be posted in other areas of Jakarta.

Setyo admits that he is posted at Cipedak, Jagakarsa. “But I will also handle the area of Ciganjur,” according to Setyo, who has a number of relatives living in the area.

Setyo is positive that the deployment of regional legislators to Jakarta will attract mush needed votes for Ahok-Djarot. “There are many people from Wonogiri that now live in Jakarta,” Setyo said. Some of them are already a legal citizen of Jakarta that has the right to vote.
