Florida Terror; KJRI Houston Warns Indonesian to be on High Alert

TEMPO.CO, Orlando-Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Houston warns Indonesian people to be on high alert after the terror at the nightclub Pulse, Orlando-Florida, on Sunday, June 12, 2016.
"The suspect is an Islamist radical, we warn Indonesian muslims to be careful and on high alert following the possible negative centiment from the locals," said Bambang Setyobudi, Chief of Information and Culture of the Indonesian Consulate General in Houston on Sunday, June 12, 2016.
The terror has at least killed 50 and wounded 53 people and is the deadliest mass shooting in the U.S. history.
Police identified the suspect as Omar Saddiqui Mateen, 29 years old, from Fort Pierce, Florida. He was an American born of Afghan descent. Mateen killed in gunfight with the officers.
The Federal Bureau Investigation (FBI) is currently undergoing thorough investigation. “At this time we're looking at all angles right now," an FBI official said as cited from ABC News, "we do have suggestions that that individual may have leanings towards that, that particular ideology. But right now we can’t say definitively, so we’re still running everything around.”
To date, there has been no report recorded any Indonesian victim in the shooting. KJRI Houston has called on Indonesian diaspora in Florida to follow up with the issue.
Based on data from KJRI Houston, there are around 2,522 Indonesian people in Florida; 1,263 men and 1,259 women.
