TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian authorities probed five Chinese nationals who were arrested doing illegal activities at the Indonesian Air Force Base in Halim Perdanakusuma on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. The foreign nationals claimed that they worked for Geo Mining Central (GMC).
“We’ve checked them, and they have limited stay visas for employment in Indonesia,” Ronny F. Sompie, director general of immigration at the Justice and Human Rights Ministry, told Antara in Beijing on Wednesday, April 27, 2016.
Ronny accompanied Coordinating Political, Legal, and Security Minister Luhut Binsar Panjaitan leading Indonesian delegations in the Fifth Meeting of China-Indonesia Dialogue Mechanism discussing political, legal and security cooperation and other bilateral meetings on April 26 and 27, 2016.
Ronny added that the authorities were still looking into immigration violations committed by the Chinese nationals, in addition to trespassing the Air Force base. Ronny claimed that Indonesia continued to improve the supervision on immigration traffic from and to Indonesia.
