Jokowi to Meet Twitter CEO to Discus Prevention on Terrorism

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo attended the first US – ASEAN Summit in Sunnylands, California – United State early of this week.
According to Twitter release on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, the President is scheduled to visit Twitter head office in San Francisco to meet with its CEO, Jack Dorsey (@jack), on Feb. 17, local time or Wednesday morning, Feb. 18 Indonesian time.
The visit is Jokowi’s initiative to assert Indonesian role in increasing security and pre-detection of terrorism since the communication and social platform like Twitter plays an important role in battling and preventing terrorism as well as extremism act.
President Jokowi’s Twitter account @jokowi has more than 4,43 million followers. He also became the first president in Asia-Pacific who has and uses Periscope account, a live broadcast application own by Twitter, (with account name @presidenjokowidodo) to communicate directly with Indonesian people during #KarnavalKhatulistiwa, an event in Pontianak held in last August 2015.
As one of the leaders with a significant presence on Twitter, @jokowi has been using this platform to record his daily activity as a president and as a part of society.
