Police to Inspect Customized License Plate

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Directorate General of Traffic at the Jakarta Police is set to run an operation to seize unofficial license plate. Director General, Sr. Comr. Budiyanto, said that there are a lot of vehicles attaching different license plate with the official one. 

"We will take action within the next three days," said Budiyanto Thursday, February 11, 2016.

Budiyanto said that the official license plate from the police has experienced some changes. "We had the change in 2014," said Budiyanto. The current plate is 5 centimeters longer than the previous plate, and containing three letters in the back, instead of two. 

Budiyanto added that driver or rider using customized plates can be charged for traffic violation with maximum sentence of two months in prison or Rp500,000 in fine.
