TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Explosion and shooting at Sarinah building, Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Central Jakarta, made the managers of a number of other nearby shopping malls close early.

Since noon, Grand Indonesia mall which is 1.2 kilometers from the blast site shut the door until an undetermined time. "We are working with police to improve security," said an employee of Public Relations of Grand Indonesia, Anissa Hazarini, when contacted on Thursday, January 14, 2016.

In addition, two other big malls, the Plaza Senayan and Senayan City, closed faster. Although the two malls are located about 8 kilometers from the blast site.

Spokesman of Senayan City, Elsi Adianti, said the closure was conducted since 12:30pm. "We are closed until the situation is conducive. For visitors who are already in the mall, we had appealed them to remain inside until the situation is safe."
