TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police's Criminal Investigation Directorate searched through Pelindo II director RJ Lino's office on Friday, August 28, 2015.

"The search was conducted by the Criminal Investigation Directorate with help from the Jakarta Police and the precinct police," Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Muhammad Iqbal said on Friday, August 28, 2015.

Earlier on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Rizal Ramli suspected that PT Pelindo II had been taking advantages of stacked containers at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta. Rizal said that the condition was the main cause of a lengthy dwelling time.

According to Rizal, Pelindo II had received trillions of rupiah from renting container storage houses. The company charged a low rent fee for storage houses at the port, also causing the lengthy dwelling time.

"Pelindo could receive Rp 1 trillion [US$71.4 million], given the lengthy dwelling time," he said.

To address the issue, Rizal has planned to increase rent fees for storage houses at ports, which is currently is lower than for private-owned storage houses.
