TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Three ministers of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) are scheduled to visit the validation compensation post for Lapindo mud victims in Pendapa Delta Wibawa, Sidoarjo District, East Java, on Tuesday, July 14.
Those three ministers are the Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro, and Social Minister Khofifiah Indar Parawansa.
Public Relations of Sidoarjo Sludge Prevention Agency (BLPS) Dwinanto Hesti Prasetyo said the purpose of their visit is to address to the BPLS and residents on the meeting result between the government and PT Minarak Lapindo Jaya in Jakarta. “That’s about it,” Dwinanto told Tempo on Monday, July 13.
Dwinanto denied the rumor that mentioned their visit is to disburse the compensation fund for the Lapindo victims. “Their visit has nothing to do with the disbursement fund,” he said.
Dwinanto said that BPLS has validated about 1,244 files from the total of 3,337 files that belonged to the residents. “Tomorrow we will conduct the fifth validation stage by adding 300 files,” he said.
If no problems occur, the agency plans to announce 300 nominative list on Wednesday, July 15. “The plan to announce 300 nominative list on Monday was cancelled,” said Dwinanto.
The compensation payment for Lapindo victims were postponed from its previous plan, which is June 26. Minarak have just agreed to sign a new bailout deal of Rp827 billion proposed by the government in July 10.
The signing of the deal is a disbursement requirement of compensation in addition to the presidential decree and a list of budget use that was issued earlier.
