TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Indonesian government will send its first team to help quake victims in Nepal on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. The team will leave for Nepal from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport at 16.00 on Indonesian Air Force’s B 737-400.
“In addition to carrying logistics assistance, we will also help with the evacuation of Indonesian citizens in Nepal,” Krishna Djelani, the deputy director of Indonesian Citizen Protection and Indonesian Law Body at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, said on Wednesday, April 29, 2015.
The team, scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu tomorrow morning, will carry six tons of emergency necessities for the quake victims, such as hospital tents, surgery equipment, refugee tents, medical instruments, instant foods and medical supplies. In addition, the Indonesian government will also send 17 doctors and paramedics. The second and third phases of the assistance will be initiated within a few days ahead.
