TEMPO.CO, JakartaDozens of demonstrators who claimed that they were on behalf of the Jakarta Governor 'Ahok' Defenders Front (FPA) held a peace action protest in front of the City Hall yard, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday.

In the action, the demonstrators declared their support of Ahok's leadership style which is considered bravely revealing corruption cases in the capital.

"We come here giving a support to Ahok. There is no city council that can dethrone Ahok as he was chosen by the Jakarta citizens," said coordinator of FPA, Safri Hidayat.

Hidayat assessed that the action of City Council that wants to dethrone Ahok through inquiry right due to ethical issue is very unsubstantiated, because the ethical value is regarded to have no clear benchmark. "The ethics is absurd, from what basis? he expressed.

He gave an example of ethical values between Javanese and Sumatran, which are clearly different. Javanese is well-known to be polite, while the Sumatrans are well-known for talking loudly and hard. "It means that it is indeed his character, as the difference of language and culture. Yet he is honest and brave," he added.

Safri also considered that the inquiry right which was rolled out to investigate Ahok's fault all this time is loaded with the personal interests of the councils' members. The council felt that their budget right was disrupted due to the current gubernatorial leadership. "We're asking the councils to repent. Remember, they are people's representatives, so don't be selfish," he said.

"If Ahok is bravely to always expose the truth, it means that he is an honest man. Just like he saved the public budget such as the UPS case. That was a great case," he disclosed.
