TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The defendant former Chairman of the Democrat Party, Anas Urbaningrum, attended an advanced trial of witnesses in the suspicion of gratification case in the Hambalang project in the Corruption Trial, Kuningan Jakarta, Monday, July 14 2014.
Anas entered the court at 10:50am. The trial was delayed from its previous starting hour, which was at 9am because the presiding judges had not attend yet.
Five witnesses were examined today because their testimonies had not been heard last Monday, July 7, 2014.
The witnesses were: Deputy Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Saan Mustopo, former Head of National Defense Agency, Joyo Winoto, Secretary of National Defense Agency, Managam Maurung. Two witnesses from private parties also attended, they are former Manager and Marketing of Sultan Hotel, Wawan Hernawan and Diana Hutagalung.
On Monday, July 7 2014, Chief Justice Corruption Court, Haswandi, stopped the running trial because the three judge members could not attend. The Corruption Court only heard a testimony from former Marketing Manager PT Anugerah Nusantara, Clara Mauren.
In her testimony, Clara Mauren admits issuing a check to purchase a brand new car for Anas. But she disagreed that the check to purchase the Toyota Harrier came from PT Adhi Karya involving Hambalang project. According to Clara, the money came from a project of Airlangga University, Surabaya.
