TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Jakarta Police chief, Adj. Fadil Imran, has urged the government to impose heavy sanctions on Stadium night club, Jakarta. He said the government must revoke its operational license since the entertainment place is linked to the death of a police officer caused by a narcotic overdose at the location.
"So [the Jakarta provincial government] would consider heavy sanctions on similar night clubs that are proven to distribute drugs," Adj. Fadil said when contacted, yesterday.
Previously, a police officer named Jicky Vay Gumerung was found dead due to a drug overdose at Stadium night club, Friday. The officer was ranked brigade second and member of the North Sulawesi Police. He was at the club with fellow police officers.
Adj. Fadil said the police have sent a letter to the Jakarta government, in regards to their request to impose heavy sanctions on Stadium. The letter contains recommendations to the government to impose sanctions to other clubs that often distribute illegal drugs. The recommended sanctions are administrative sanction or even revoking their operational licenses.
