TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Easter celebration, from Easter Eve until Holy Friday, in Jakarta ran safe and smoothly with zero security disturbance, as reported by Antara News.

"Easter celebration in Jakarta last in conducive situation, and so far we have not received any report of security disturbance," stated Jakarta Police Public Relations Division Chief Sr. Comr. Rikwanto on Friday.

According to Rikwanto, thousands of policemen were deployed to safeguard churches in Jakarta. Such a thing is conducted to provide comfort to the Christians commemorating Easter. " The Jakarta Metro Police deployed 4,620 personnel to secure Easter celebration," he said.

Rikwanto added that the security is carried out in 1,129 churches in Jakarta by involving all ranks of sector police and resort police in each region. "The amount of personnel deployed is different in every church, depends on the amount of pilgrims there," he explained.
