TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fighting obesity can be done in various ways, such as providing special subway ticket vending machine in Vystavochaya Station, Moscow. Travelers can get tickets for free from this machine by performing 30 squats.

This machine is created by the Moscow Olympic Committee to promote Winter Game next year. They want people to realize the importance of sports in daily life.

"We wanted to show that the Olympic Games is not just an international competition that people watch on TV, but that it is also about getting everyone involved in a sporting lifestyle," said Alexander Zhukov, president of the Russian Olympic Committee.

Quoted from Digital Trends website on Wednesay, November 13, 2013, this automated ticket selling machine will be placed in large numbers next month. This machine uses sensors to count the number of squats achieved within the time limit. If the time limit and 30 squats are successfully achieved, machine issues a ticket.

However, if travelers failed to perform 30 squats, they have to go over to regular machines and pay the ticket.

From monitoring results, many people are successful in getting free tickets by performing squat jump, but many also failed to get free tickets because their knees give away mid-squat.
