TEMPO.CO, Bogor - The former site of Hambalang Sports Center remains silent even though the case has made major news headline in Jakarta. Hambalang site in Bogor showed a contrasting view, as a security officer Arwan said it looks more like a cemetary.
Arwan said that since 2012, there has not been any construction work in Hambalang. During the past year, there have only been janitors cutting the grass. "The security officers were cut off, from 12 to only 5 personnel," he said.
Security officers like Arwan had been ordered not to allow anyone, including reporters from Tempo, to enter the perimeter. "We will grant access only if there is permit from the (Youth and Sports) Ministry," Arwan suggested.
Local resident H. Jajang said the discontinued Hambalang project caused his business to drop. The grocery store owner mentioned he used to retrieve Rp1 million per day, reducing to only Rp 300,000 at recent days.
