TEMPO.CO, Cianjur - The Independent Integrated Research Team (TTRM) will soon publish the results of their research on the Gunung Padang megalithic site in Karyamukti village, West Java. Their findings will be announced in front of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the West Java Provincial Administration and the Cianjur District Administration.

"The findings on the Gunung Padang site will shock the world," said the president’s special staffer for social aid and natural disasters, Andi Arief, on Wednesday.

Arief said the researchers have completed their study and will soon announce it to the president. Therefore, he urged all of the residents of Cianjur district not to be provoked by rumors intended to obstruct this research.

"The most important thing is that the results of this research will be of great advantage for Indonesia, especially the people of Cianjur district," he said.

Head of the Cianjur Culture and Tourism Department, Tedi Artiawan, responded to the positive results of the Gunung Padang research.

"We hope Gunung Padang will be a cultural heritage that is not only known by Indonesia, but also by the world," he said.

As for the rumors that the dig was to be terminated, Tedi said people should not believe them adding that the dig had been conducted according to procedure.
