TEMPO.CO, Washington – United States President Barrack Obama has nominated Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of former President John F Kennedy, as US amabssador to Japan.
If approved, she will be the third generation of the Kennedy family who serves the US Diplomatic corps. Her grandfather, Joseph P. Kennedy Sr., served as the US ambassador to England while her aunt Jean Kennedy Smith, served as the US ambassador to Ireland.
Yoshihide Suga, Japan Cabinet Secretary, praised the nomination and mentioned that it showed how important Japan is to the United States.
