Forty-three-year-old Lisa Lukitawati Isa has been in and out of the Youth and Sports Ministry since 2008. At first, she was appointed by Ministerial Secretary Wafid Muharam as a technical assistant on health equipment. When the Hambalang project was conceived, Lisa was officially named as member of the planning team by Wafid.
Even so, Lisa--who just happens to be a businesswoman dealing in sports equipment--often worked in areas not in accordance with her job description. She is suspected to have determined the fee on the Hambalang project and even disbursed the money. "People will say anything to further their own interests," Lisa told Tempo reporter Anton Septian at her office in Pondok Pinang, Jakarta, last week.
Are you acquainted with Sylvia Sholehah alias Bu Pur?
Pak Wafid Muharam is the one who knows her.
Do you know Sylvia's two close colleagues, Widodo Wisnu Sayoko and Arif?
Better ask Pak Wafid and Pak Deddy Kusdinar.
Reportedly, they helped in handling the multi-year contract.
(Shakes her head.)
Were you the mediator when money was passed from KSO Adhi-Wika to a number of people, including Sylvia and certain officials of the Youth and Sports Ministry?
(Shakes her head.)
Weren't you the one who gave money to Mindo Rosalina Manulang? That money reportedly came from the Hambalang fee.
Ask the KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission) about that. (Lisa once admitted to giving Rosa money at the instruction of Wafid Muharam in early January 2011.)
We were informed that the KSO Adhi-Wika chairman, Teuku Bagus Muhammad Noor gave money to the Youth Ministry, through a number of people, including yourself.
I will not comment on anything that is still being processed.
Is it true you helped in determining the Hambalang project fee at 18 percent?
People will say anything to protect their interests. I have submitted all I know to the investigators at the KPK.
It was not only one source who mentioned your role in Hambalang.
People say I know a lot, they can say anything but I don't want to do the same to them.
So, what is your version of the Hambalang case?
I have told the investigators the whole truth.
Your answers have been unclear. Can you answer yes or no that you took part in determining the Hambalang fee and in disbursing the KSO Adhi-Wika money to a number of people?
It would be useless to reply truthfully or not.
When you were questioned by the investigators, did you also respond in such a nebulous way?
I conveyed what I know but I refuse to expose other people's embarrassment. When I decide to take one road, I will remain on that road, even though it will bring me down.
