TEMPO.CO, Teheran - Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Mohammad Khatami, Iran's former Presidents, officially endorsed his ally, Hassan Rouhani, in Friday's, June 14 presidential election.
"Hassan Rouhani is the most suitable candidate, but he must face five conservative opponents in the polls," said Rafsanjani.
Hassan Rouhani, a moderate cleric in favor of openness and improved relations with the west, emerging as the dark horse candidate in the Iranian presidential election.
"Bearing in mind my duty to the country and the fate of our honorable nation, I will give my vote to my esteemed brother Dr. Rouhani," former president Khatami wrote.
