TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The funeral of the Chairman of People' Consultative Assembly (MPR) will be held in a military ceremony at Kalibata National Hero Cemetery. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will be the inspector of the funeral prepared by the government.
"As planned, the corpse will be taken directly to the National Hero Cemetery," said Tjahyo Kumolo, the Secretary General of PDI-P earlier this morning, Sunday June 9.
Using a special aircraft, Kiemas' body left for Jakarta at 07.30 a.m. and is scheduled to arrive at Halim Perdanakusuma airport at around 9.30 a.m.
At Halim Perdanakusuma airport, President SBY together with a number of national leaders will welcome Kiemas' body at VVIP room.
The body is scheduled to head to Kalibata National Hero Cemetery, South Jakarta, to be buried at 10.30 a.m. and the funeral ceremony will be conducted by 11.00 a.m.
Kiemas died on Saturday, June 8 at 6.05 p.m Indonesia time (7.05 p.m Singapore time) due to a health-dropping condition after attending the birth of Pancasila commemoration in Ende, West Timor. Kiemas experienced an extreme fatigue afterwards which then forced him to be hospitalized.
