The offer was made by governor Soekarwo when he met with Slovakian businessmen, escorted by the Slovakian Ambassador to Indonesia, Stefan Rozkopal, yesterday.We offered kaspe or pohong, said Soekarwo. He said cassava was offered to Slovakia because it is one of the worlds flour producers. Meanwhile, yams, whose production is abundant in East Java the second biggest yam producer after Central Java is the main material for flour thickener.Soekarwo said that yam production in Bondowoso Regency alone was 400.000 tons per year. Total production in the province is 2,9 million tons for the same period. Bondowoso people should not just love eating tapai (sweet cake made of fermented rice or cassava), they should import cassava also, he said.At the same time, Soekarwo also received a similar group from Australia. To them, he offered the potential to invest in the tourism sector. He mentioned Bromo, the Majapahit Empire site, and Madura Island, famous for its traditional cattle races.Soekarwo assured his guests on the availability of energy if they took up the investment offer.
