CANTIKA.COM, Jakarta - The supernatural horror film Final Destination: Bloodlines has become one of the most eagerly awaited titles among Indonesian audiences.
As the sixth installment in the Final Destination franchise, the movie is penned by Jon Watts and helmed by directing duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein. Slated for a theatrical release on May 14, 2025, the film introduces a new chapter in the saga of escaping death.
The story centers on a teenage girl, Stefani Lewis—portrayed by Kaitlyn Santa Juana—who is haunted by a series of disturbing nightmares that appear to foreshadow her family’s demise.
Driven by fear and desperation, Stefani returns to her hometown to uncover the truth behind her visions and find someone who can help her escape the deadly fate she believes is rapidly approaching.
Stefani meets her grandmother, who had once predicted the collapse of a tower, saving a large group of people decades ago. It turns out that this is the reason why Death is now visiting all descendants who were not supposed to exist.
Final Destination: Bloodlines is scheduled to premiere in Indonesian theaters on May 14, 2025, ahead of its global release. The film will be screened in cinemas worldwide starting May 16, 2025.
What makes this even more notable for fans is that the film will be screened completely uncensored.
“No cuts, no enlargements, no blurs,” announced Warner Bros Indonesia via their official Instagram account @warnerbrosid. “This is what you want, isn’t it?” they added, teasing eager audiences.
Alongside Kaitlyn Santa Juana in the lead role, the film also stars Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and Tony Todd, who returns to the franchise as the iconic William Bludworth.
A Long Wait
The Final Destination franchise remains a fan favorite, with its most recent installment, Final Destination 5, having premiered back in 2011.
In January 2019, New Line Cinema, the studio behind the series, announced that a sixth installment was in development. Furthermore, in 2020, the series' creator, Jeffrey Reddick, mentioned that the sequel had been in the works before the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
In September 2023, Tony Todd was reported to have signed a contract to reprise his role as William Bludworth, and in March 2024, Warner Bros. Pictures announced that Final Destination: Bloodlines would be screened worldwide in theaters on May 16, 2025.
