TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi donned the East Kalimantan traditional clothing dubbed Kustim during the Seconds to the Independence Proclamation ceremony at the State Palace in the new capital, Nusantara, or IKN on Saturday, August 17.
Based on the Presidential Secretariat's information, the Kustim traditional clothing is inspired by the Kutai Kertanegara Sultanate.
Meanwhile, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, who participated in the Seconds to Proclamation ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, wore the traditional clothing of Pontianak, West Kalimantan.
VP Amin wore the Sambas Malay Tribe clothing from West Kalimantan.

Meanwhile, Vice President-Elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka and his son Jan Ethes donned traditional Papuan clothing, while his wife Selvi Ananda was dressed in Lampung traditional clothing in blue color with gold decorations.
Gibran's daughter, La Lembah Manah, wore a simple black kebaya with gold accents on the wrists.
The Seconds to the Proclamation Ceremony was held both at the State Palace in IKN Nusantara and in the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
The ceremony at IKN, which the president led, took place solemnly.
In the ceremony, President Jokowi acted as the Inspector of Ceremony, and Infantry Colonel Nur Wahyudi, who graduated from the Military Academy in 2001 and now serves as Commander of the Army’s Special Strike Force (Kopassus) Unit 81, acted as the Ceremony Commander.

President Jokowi oversaw the ceremony by guiding the moment of silence and witnessing the hoisting of the National Red and White Heritage Flag.
Various high-ranking officials and important guests, including President-elect Prabowo Subianto, participated in the ceremony.
