Final Paris Olympics Tally: US Comes Out on Top, Indonesia Ranked 39th

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The United States came out on top with 126 overall medals for the 2024 Paris Olympics, including 40 gold. The head-to-head fight for gold between China and the US ended in a tie, with the US ahead in silver with 44 medals.
Meanwhile, China brought home 27 silver medals, which brought a total of 91 overall medals for the US’ rival this year.
The US women's basketball team’s gold was the final contributor to the country’s medal tally on Sunday, August 11, after defeating host France. It’s the 8th consecutive gold medal for the United States.
Japan finished third in the Paris Olympics with 20 gold, 12 silver, and 13 bronze. Australia was fourth with 18 gold, 19 silver, and 16 bronze.
Host France finished at a respectable fifth with 16 gold, 26 silver, and 22 bronze, France’s best in 100 years.
France finished ahead in one position over the Netherlands which clinched 15 gold, 7 silver, and 12 bronze.
Indonesia Finished in 39th
The Indonesian contingent finished in 39th place in the 2024 Paris Olympics along with Algeria. Both countries managed to win 2 gold and 1 bronze medal.
Southeast Asia’s best remain with the Philippines, which ended in 37th place with 2 gold and 2 bronze.
Thailand finished 44th at this year’s Olympics with 1 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze. Malaysia is in 80th place with 2 bronze while Singapore is in 84th place after clinching 1 bronze medal.
