TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin claimed that he would meet Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka. “I will definitely meet the new Vice President, but the day is not set yet,” he said in Bandung, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
Ma'ruf said that he would deliver matters about vice presidential duties. "I will tell him what the duties of a vice president entail," he said.
According to Ma'ruf, the new vice president will not necessarily have the same duties as him, President Joko Widodo’s vice president. “The vice president will assist and carry out the tasks given by the president,” he said. "When I was assigned (as vice president), my duties were not the same as the previous ones. I believe (the duties) will be adjusted.”
Ma'ruf Amin hopes that everything will go as expected. "I hope everything goes well, and Indonesia will quickly achieve the goals we’ve set," he said.
Today, KPU has named Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the elected president and vice president in the 2024 presidential election. The decision was announced after the Constitutional Court rejected the presidential election dispute lawsuit filed by Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud.
