TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of viewers of the Indonesian movie "Siksa Kubur" continues to increase until today. In just one day, the religious horror film aired during the Eid holiday recorded 246,982 viewers on Friday, April 19. After nine days in theaters, "Siksa Kubur" has been seen by 2,527,721 people.
The director and screenwriter of the movie, Joko Anwar, was grateful for the success of his movie when he announced the number of viewers. "Alhamdulillah! It even reached 246,982 viewers on Friday. Thank you all," Joko Anwar wrote in his Instagram post on Saturday, April 20.
Siksa Kubur to Be Screened in 7 Countries, Not Only in Asia
Produced by Tia Hasibuan through the production house Come and See Pictures, the movie will be shown in several countries in and outside Asia. This was stated by Joko Anwar and Tia Hasibuan during a press conference for the trailer release of “Siksa Kubur” on March 13.
"So far, [it's] still [going to be aired in] 7 [countries], but we can't reveal it yet," said Joko Anwar. "This is because we are still in the process of negotiating, so we will announce [later]. As for the countries, some may be outside of Asia," said Tia Hasibuan.
Partners with Malaysian Production House, Komet Production
"Siksa Kubur" is not only produced by Come and See Picture. Some other production houses also involved in the marketing of this movie include Rapi Films, Legacy Pictures, IFI Sinema, and a Malaysian production house, Komet Productions.
Joko Anwar said that Komet Productions played its role in a strategic partnership in the movie, including the distribution of the movie in Malaysia.
