TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Arsjad Rasjid said the preparation of the Draft State Budget or RAPBN must be done wisely.
He also reminded the government to adhere to fiscal discipline. "Fiscal discipline is important. This is the key to the future. It must be disciplined. Otherwise, it is dangerous," said Arsjad after a halal bi-halal event at the official residence of Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, South Jakarta, on Thursday evening, April 11, 2024.
Arsjad stated that Indonesia will still face many challenges, so budget preparation must be done wisely. "The APBN (state budget) is very important in the future, and our challenges will be very big."
Furthermore, Arsjad stated that every post in the APBN is very important, especially in stimulating the country's economy. He said many developed countries and Asian countries with large capacities experienced an economic decline. So inevitably, they throw (products) where? Indonesia," he said.
According to him, Indonesia is a very large market. Therefore, he believes that Indonesia should not remain silent in the face of this condition.
In the future, the government must also guard against foreign products entering Indonesia and flooding the country's market. This condition impacts micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Moreover, he said, the challenges at the global level are very tough. So, he considered this to be a challenge for the government in the future to ensure what incentives should be made so that the Indonesian economy would be better.
The government has agreed to keep the 2025 state budget deficit below 3 percent. According to Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, the focus of the 2025 fiscal policy is to accelerate economic growth and improve welfare, and progress between regions.
The former World Bank Managing Director stated that the government is still sharpening various designs and postures for the 2025 State Budget. He also ensured that the budget preparation was still carried out by maintaining a good political process.
