TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasted that cloudy skies will prevail in Jakarta from the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 27. Rain is also expected to start in the afternoon and continue until the evening.
Between 01:00 and 07:00 WIB, the entire capital city is expected to be enveloped in clouds, except for the Thousand Islands where there is a possibility of light rain.
From 07:00 to 13:00 WIB, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands will remain overcast, while North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta are expected to experience light precipitation..
Precipitation is likely to be evenly distributed across the metropolitan areas from noon until around 19:00 WIB.
According to the agency's weather forecast, the temperature is expected to range from 24-31 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels between 65-95 percent. Winds will be blowing from the north to southeast at a speed of 5-20 kilometers per hour.
Previously, the BMKG announced that several regions in Indonesia are at risk of extreme weather, particularly nine areas under Siaga and Waspada alert statuses. West Java is currently on high alert for severe weather impacts that could result in floods, landslides, strong winds, and tornadoes. Additionally, Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung, Central Java, East Java, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, and Papua are also on alert.
