BMKG Forecasts a Sunny Day, Rainy Evening in Jakarta Today

21 March 2024 07:56 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecast that the weather in Jakarta will be sunny from Thursday morning until tonight, March 21, 2024. The cloudless sky in the capital city has persisted since yesterday evening.

Referring to BMKG's daily weather forecast data, Jakarta is likely to be sunny from dawn to 07:00 a.m. local time. From morning until noon at 01:00 p.m., the capital region is still sunny, but cloudy.

The weather will remain cloudy in Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, and Seribu Islands this evening. Meanwhile, South Jakarta, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta will potentially get a drizzle tonight.

Throughout today, the air temperature will range from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels around 75 to 95 percent. The wind is blowing from northwest to west at 5 to 25 kilometers per hour.

BMKG Head Dwikorita Karnawati said that the results of climate analysis at the beginning of the dry season concern the transformation from the El-Nino Asian Monsoon becoming the eastern winds of the Australian Monsoon.

Based on the prediction, the process will begin in early April in several regions of eastern Indonesia and the North Coast of Java, including Banten and Jakarta. The coverage will dominate Java Island and all parts of Indonesia in September 2024. "July-August is predicted to be the peak of the below-normal dry season because it will be close to the peak," Dwikorita said.
