Jokowi Approves 14 New Strategic Projects in 2024

TEMPO.CO, JakartaCoordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed that President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has approved an additional 14 National Strategic Projects (PSN) this year. All of the projects will be financed by the private sector.

Airlangga made the statement after a cabinet meeting on the 2024 PSN at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Monday, March 18. These 14 new projects are included in the nomenclature adjustments and scope changes to existing projects.

“These have been approved by the President,” Airlangga said. However, the Golkar Party chairman refrained from specifying the estimated cost of the projects.

Previously at a media briefing in Jakarta on February 7, Deputy for Regional Development and Spatial Planning at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Wahyu Utomo, said that the government aims for 41 strategic projects to be completed by 2024. 

At least 31 of these projects are expected to be completed by October 20, 2024, the end of President Jokowi's term. They include three projects in the toll road sector, three in the transport sector, 14 projects in the dam sector, one project in the energy sector, and 11 projects in the regional sector.

The remaining 10 projects are due to be completed by December 2024. They include one project in the transportation sector and nine projects in the dam and irrigation sector. The total investment value of all 41 projects is estimated at around Rp500 trillion.

Here is a list of the 14 new national strategic projects approved by President Jokowi:

  1. Development of Pantai Indah Kapuk Tropical Concept

  2. Development of the Wiraraja Industrial Area on Galang Island

  3. Development of the North Hub Project in Offshore East Kalimantan

  4. Development of the Neo Energy Parimo Industrial Estate in Central Sulawesi

  5. Development of the Patimban Industrial Estate in Subang 

  6. Development of the Giga Industrial Park in Southeast Sulawesi

  7. Development of the Kolaka Resource Industrial Area in Southeast Sulawesi

  8. Development of the Stargate Astra Industrial Area in Southeast Sulawesi

  9. Development of the Surabaya Waterfront Coastal Area

  10. Development of the Morowali Neo Energy Area in Central Sulawesi

  11. Integrated Area Development in Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD)

  12. Development of the Toapaya Bintan Industrial Area in Riau

  13. Toll road development in Section Harbor Road II in North Jakarta

  14. Development of Toll Roads in Bandung City
