BMKG: Extreme Weather Persists for Next Week, Jakarta Remains Cloudy Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In today's weather forecast, Jakarta will remain cloudy on Friday, March 8, 2024. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) estimated that all areas of Jakarta would be cloudy this morning.
The weather in parts of Jakarta was predicted to shift midday, around 10:00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m. local time. A drizzle would fall on South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and the Seribu Islands. At the same time, West Jakarta was predicted to be hit with medium rain. Meanwhile, Central Jakarta and North Jakarta would experience rain with lightning. Jakarta weather in the afternoon until evening would return cloudy.
BMKG estimated Jakarta's temperature throughout the day would range from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius with an air humidity level of 80 to 90 percent.
Extreme weather persists
Based on the latest weather analysis, BMKG identified the potential for a significant increase in rainy weather in several parts of Indonesia in the week ahead. These conditions considered increasing the potential for rain that can trigger various impacts, such as flooding and landslides on March 7-8, 2024. Parts of Banten and Central Java are included in this category.
Meanwhile, other provinces including Greater Jakarta have the potential for rain with medium to heavy intensity with lightning and strong winds on March 8-14, 2024, wrote the BMKG Warning Update on Friday, March 8.
