TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - It seems that BTS' V doesn't want 'ARMY', the BTS fandom, to be lonely while he is in the military. He provides a lot of content that ARMY can enjoy. Including releasing a digital single entitled FRI(END)S.
The announcement of the release of a new digital single was made directly by the BigHit Music agency, on Monday, 4th of March 2024, midnight South Korean time. The single entitled FRI(END)S will be released on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 13:00 local time.
The song FRI(END)S carries the Pop Soul R&B genre. This song conveys an interesting and witty romance through lyrics written entirely in English. The bright pink color of the cover art which is the background for the single announcement suggests a sweet and playful atmosphere.
Before the song is released, BTS' V will pamper ARMY with various content. Includes concept photos and teaser video, which provide further insight into the new single.
New song after the Layover album
The song FRI(END)S is only six months after Taehyung's first solo album Layover was released in September 2023. This shows his existence as a solo singer with a distinctive voice and unique taste.
The album Layover occupied the No.2 position on the Billboard 200 after being released on September 8, 2023. There are six songs on the album. The song Rainy Days was ranked first on the iTunes Top Song charts in 70 countries. Meanwhile, another song, Love Me Again, topped the iTunes charts in 35 countries, including Austria, Bulgaria and Romania.
FRI(END)S will add to the series of solo songs by the man whose real name is Kim Taehyung. He has released the songs Stigma, Singularity, Inner Child, 4 OCLOCK, Scenery, Winter Bear, Blue & Grey, Snow Flower, Sweet Night and Christmas Tree.
NOT IN USE teaser
The day before the announcement of the digital single FRI(END)S, BigHit uploaded video reels on its official Instagram. The video shows the BTS member in various behind-the-scenes moments, with the words NOT IN USE, briefly displayed.
The video without any additional information or context certainly invited a lot of questions from ARMY. Speculation is growing that the video is for an upcoming vlog, documentary, or music video. There are also those who link the clip to photos from her trip to London last year. However, from the video reels and cover art background, the FRI(END)S song announcement cover looks different.
