Wiranto Accompanies Jokowi on Work Visit to East Kalimantan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and a limited entourage departed for a two-day working visit to East Kalimantan Province on Wednesday, February 28. During the visit, Jokowi will participate in several agendas.

Jokowi left Jakarta for East Kalimantan aboard the Indonesian Presidential Airplane-1 at around 13:00, accompanied by the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan and the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia. Wiranto, the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Council, Major General TNI Rudi Saladin, the Military Secretary to the President, and Major General TNI Achiruddin, the Paspampres Commander, are also part of Jokowi's entourage.

The President's entourage arrived at Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Pranoto International Airport in Samarinda City at around 4:00 PM Central Indonesia Time (WITA). According to a statement from the Press Bureau and Presidential Secretariat, President Jokowi's next agenda is to inaugurate the Samarinda Seberang Terminal.

At the airport, President Jokowi was greeted by East Kalimantan's acting Governor Akmal Malik, Commander of the Joint Regional Defense Command II, Marshal TNI M. Tonny Harjono, Commander of Regional Military Command VI/Mulawarman Major General TNI Tri Budi Utomo, and East Kalimantan Police Chief Insp. Gen. Pol. Nanang Avianto.

Currently, there is no information available about Jokowi's recent working visits to East Kalimantan. However, tomorrow the president is scheduled to inaugurate the PT Kaltim Ammonium Nitrate (KAN) explosives factory in Bontang.

The Nusantara Capital Authority has also confirmed that President Joko Widodo will lay the first stone in the fifth groundbreaking ceremony for the new capital city construction projects on February 29 and March 1.
