TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi will attend the first IKN groundbreaking after the 2024 election this Thursday and Friday. The last groundbreaking before the election was conducted on January 17, 2024.
“This showcases the continuity of IKN’s development,” said the deputy of the financing and investment department of IKN Authority Agung Wicaksono on Tuesday. “A peaceful election is the prerequisite of investment.”
The fifth groundbreaking of the Nusantara capital city (IKN) projects will involve three SOEs, including Bank Mandiri, BRI, BNI, and the local banking company Bank Kaltimtara. The banking areas will be built within the central core of the government area called KIPP.
Additionally, the groundbreaking will also include the development of PT Telkom Indonesia, TVRI, and BPJS (social health insurance administration body).
“As a smart city, IKN will also have a command center,” Agung said.
The command center will be developed within the worker’s residential area. The facility will be used to monitor IKN but is currently used to monitor the development of IKN.
However, Agung has not revealed the amount of investment contained in the fifth phase of the IKN groundbreaking. “We are still calculating the amount, but it’s nearing Rp50 trillion,” he said.
Meanwhile, as of January 30, the IKN Authority recorded a total of Rp47.5 trillion in investment. IKN Authority head Bambang Susantono said that it contained Rp39.5 trillion of investment from private entities and Rp8 trillion from SOEs.
