TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Kemenparekraf/Kaba Parekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, met with Dr. Vivek Lall, Chief Executive at the India office of General Atomics Global Corporation, the ministry said in a press release.
This meeting, which took place at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi on Tuesday, February 21, 2024, aimed to explore potential collaborations in Indonesia's tourism and creative economy sectors.
General Atomics Global Corporation, a leading company in the energy and defense sectors, is considered a potential key player in realizing Indonesia's vision for green tourism.
Minister Sandiaga highlighted the possibility of integrating renewable energy solutions to implement eco-friendly tourism policies. "This could involve merging renewable energy solutions to apply policies for environmentally friendly tourism," stated Minister Sandiaga.
The discussion also covered various aspects of potential cooperation, including promotion, sharing best practices, and tourism infrastructure development. "We also discussed innovative technologies to enhance the quality of tourism infrastructure, such as sustainable energy initiatives or digital marketing strategies," Minister Sandiaga added.
Minister Sandiaga hopes to boost the performance of the country's tourism and creative economy sectors by attracting more tourism investors to Indonesia, leading to an economic revival and the creation of extensive job opportunities. "Hopefully, we can strengthen collaboration in presenting quality and sustainable tourism," said Minister Sandiaga.
