TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Solo Safari Zoo is a magnificent nature-based tourism situated on nearly 13.9 hectares of natural area in Surakarta, Central Java. Formerly known as Taru Jurug Animal Park (TSTJ) established in 1878, the revitalized zoo offers an unforgettable tour and educational experience.
The wildlife park embraces the concept of a walking safari, allowing visitors to experience a close encounter with the animals in their natural habitat.
Location
The zoo is located on Jalan Ir. Sutami No. 109, Kentingan, Jebres District, Surakarta City. It is only about 4.5 kilometers or a 10-minute drive from the Surakarta Mayor's Office.
Opening Hours
The zoo is open for domestic and foreign visitors every day from 08:30 to 16:30 local time on weekdays and from 08:00 to 16:30 local time on weekends or holidays.
Ticket Prices
Solo Safari Zoo offers two types of tickets: regular and premium, with different prices for weekdays and weekends. The ticket prices are as follows:
- Regular ticket for adults: Rp45,000 (weekdays) and Rp60,000 (weekends)
- Regular ticket for children (2-6 years old): Rp30,000 (weekdays) and Rp45,000 (weekends)
- Premium ticket for adults: Rp65,000 (weekdays) and Ro75,000 (weekends)
- Premium ticket for Children: Rp50,000 (weekdays) and Rp60,000 (weekends)
Children under two years old are not eligible for tickets.
Ticket prices include access to animal attractions, animal shows, and safari journeys. Premium ticket holders will receive additional facilities such as souvenirs, welcome drinks, direct access, and access to a buggy car.
How to Buy Tickets
Tickets can be purchased through the official website, solosafari.id, using various payment methods ranging from bank transfers to digital wallets or e-wallets.
Facilities
Solo Safari Zoo lives by the motto of 'Conservation, Education, and Recreation' and provides various facilities such as a mosque, mini train, toilets, and children's playground. There is also a Gesang Monument and a greenhouse for the preservation of dead animals.
Situated near the Bengawan Solo lake and river, Solo Safari Zoo is designed to be open, resembling the natural habitat of the fauna, enabling visitors to interact directly with the animals, including feeding them.
