TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - M. Natsir Sahib, chairman of the Dewan Pimpinan Pusat Forum Komunikasi Santri Indonesia (DPP Foksi), returned to the Police Headquarters to complete his report against three law experts and the director of the movie 'Dirty Vote'. Natsir said that he is a supporter of the president and vice president candidates Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
"As a supporter, you can check for yourself to see that I am not part of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN). I am not affiliated with the political party as an administrator. For a long time ago my political party had been PDI Perjuangan. But now I have stepped back," Natsir told reporters at the Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) on Tuesday afternoon, February 13.
Natsir said that he filed a police report against Zainal Arifin Mochtar, Bivitri Susanti, Feri Amsari, and Dandhy Laksono at his initiative. He denied there was any intervention from Prabowo-Gibran's campaign team.
"There was no (intervention) because the campaign team had issued a statement that they would not report [the film], but would let the society make their own judgments. But as part of Indonesian society, I must issue a reminder," said Natsir.
Natsir claimed that the Dirty Vote had harmed Prabowo and Gibran's image in their light for the elections. Natsir also said he did not want President Joko Widodo to be criticized and accused of cheating in the election, as the film posited.
Natsir argued that the candidates' programs and campaigns should be enough as a reference for the public to judge. He accused the academics in the film Dirty Vote of carrying out a black campaign.
"If [the other candidates] are losing in polls and surveys, don’t take this route. To me, 'Dirty Vote' doesn't provide any education about the election process, because the election's educational process is already presented during the presidential-vice presidential debate," he said.
Someone else reported the movie before him
Natsir said he came to the Police HQ to meet with Bareskrim investigators. He said that other people had also reported the movie before him.
He claimed that the police are currently conducting a review on whether the case can be investigated further.
When asked whether his report had been rejected, Natsir was reluctant to answer firmly. But he did not show a Letter of Receipt of the Report (STP).
