Countdown to Elections: Pos Indonesia Starts Distributing Ballot Papers 3 Days before Voting

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Pos Indonesia is tasked by the government to distribute ballot papers for the 2024 Election. The state post office's president director Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi guarantees that the distribution of logistics will be done in time and on target. 

Faisal said that the estimated logistics distribution time was 1 to 3 days before voting day on February 14.

"[Distribution] on the third day before voting is for remote areas to prevent delays and lateness. Some [of the ballot papers will be distributed] by boats, some by helicopters, and so on. In tough terrains, we will use motorcycles as well. In urban areas, we can surely distribute the papers one day before," Faizal said in Jakarta on Wednesday, February 7.

He said that there are various levels of distribution of election logistics; from provinces to regencies, from regencies to sub-districts, and from sub-districts to polling stations (TPS).

Despite the heavy amount of election logistics to distribute, Faizal guarantees the security of distribution as Pos Indonesia will be assisted by TNI and police personnel.
